IBA BELT:Nigeria's mbata out punches Mozambican Gramane, avenges earlier defeats

 



Nigeria's London-based Patricia Mbata defeated  Mozambican Rady Gramane by SPLITS DECISION after six rounds of action in women 75kg at the Africa IBA Championionship Night in Addis, Ababa, Ethiopia.




This triumph marked Mbata's second consecutive win against Gramane, who has previously defeated her at the African Boxing Championships in Yaoundé, Cameroon, where Gramane went to win gold.

Mbata avengers the defeats at the All Africa Games tournament in Accra, Ghana and went to clinchs the Gold medal of women's 75kg.




Patricia Mbata secure her second consecutive victory in her third bout against the 2022 World championships silver medalist, Rady Gramane last night at the Africa IBA Champion's night in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 


Mbata's joy knew no bounds as she emerged victorious against Gramane for the second time at the African IBA Champion's night:


I’m so excited beating Gramane again, and also boxing in eight-ounce gloves without headgear for the first time,’ said a jovial Mbata after the six-round middleweight bout which however lacked the expected fireworks. ‘I was fully prepared for the fight, in fact, I couldn’t believe it when the six rounds ended because I still had so much gas in my tank. My win has given me more confidence and shows that I’m progressing well since I joined the Nigeria national team last year.’
