…promise better days
The women wing of the opposition party, National Rescue Movement have called on Nigerian women to shun deceptive stomach empowerment, and mobilize their people to take political responsibility.
The National Woman leader of the party, Hon Mrs Sola Oluwatunmise made this known yesterday in Abeokuta Ogun state during a town hall meeting, bringing together all women from the four senatorial districts of the state.
Hon Oluwatunmise, who was given a rousing reception by the state executive of the party, led by the state woman leader, ACG (Dr) Oluwaseyifunmi Awosusi and other leaders.
She was exited with the turnout and encouraged them to continue to work towards the success of the party in the state. She also told the women to look away from momentary gift and false hope presently flying in the state by ruling party, that NRM is the only party that can give the people the true dividend of democracy.
In a separate remarks of the woman leaders of each local government, the national woman leader was commended for her various efforts to assist members, and give hope to the party at the state level.
In her response, the state woman leader, ACG (Dr) Oluwaseyifunmi Awosusi appreciated the doggedness of the National Woman leader bringing party women matters to the front line at the national level.
She enjoined the women to be patient as all their requests would be answered in a very short time as the party is working to bring more people on board.
The State Woman Leader also assured the members that the state platform of the party will continuously update members on various activities of the party, and opportunities as it comes.
She also appreciated the state party chairman in absentia, Hon Olujobi Fayoyin, whose contribution and personal support has taken the party to different parts of the state.
