Security Guard, 2 Others Busted for Car Theft in Ibafo

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects, including a security guard, for stealing a Lexus RX 300 SUV in Lagos and attempting to sell it in Ibafo. Obada Ezekiel, 27, Emmanuel Timothy, 25, and Yaya Yakubu, 27, were caught on April 18, 2026, after an anonymous tip led police to a hideout in Ibafo.

The security guard, Obada Ezekiel, was attached to the stolen vehicle. Preliminary investigations reveal he conspired with the other two to steal the car and move it to Ibafo for disposal.

The police recovered the ash-coloured SUV in the suspects' possession. The trio is currently in custody and will face further investigation and prosecution at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta.
