ITTF Africa Honours Nigerian Journalist Okusan for Promoting Table Tennis

Nigerian sports journalist Olalekan Okusan has been recognised by the African Table Tennis Federation (ITTF Africa) for his outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of table tennis through journalism over the past decade.

The award was presented by Wahid Oshodi during the ongoing African Youth Championships in Accra, Ghana. The recognition celebrates Okusan's consistency in documenting the achievements of African table tennis, profiling players and officials, and amplifying the sport's visibility on the continent and beyond.

Widely regarded as one of Africa's foremost table tennis journalists, Okusan has produced hundreds of news reports, feature articles, interviews and competition analyses covering major international tournaments, including the ITTF World Championships, African Championships, African Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games and World Cup events.

Through his extensive reporting, he has highlighted the exploits of African stars such as Quadri Aruna, Omar Assar, Dina Meshref and many emerging talents, helping to project African table tennis to a global audience.

Beyond journalism, Okusan has contributed significantly to the sport's administration and media development.
