Obasa Allies Dump APC, Join APM Over Assembly Tickets

Two political allies of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the Lagos State House of Assembly election.

The two politicians are Hon. Kola Egunjobi, who is seeking the Agege Constituency I seat, and Azeez Oladapo Yusuf Ninolowo, who is contesting for the Agege Constituency II seat.

Both Egunjobi and Ninolowo had initially emerged as the APC candidates for their respective constituencies. However, following an internal review by the Lagos State chapter of the APC, their tickets were subsequently reassigned to Oluwagbenga Abiola and Enimakure Akindele Sakiru, respectively.

The development reportedly prompted the two politicians to leave the APC and seek the APM’s tickets to pursue their respective Assembly ambitions.

Meanwhile, Obasa has secured the APC ticket for the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives election.

The defections are expected to add another dimension to the political contest for the Agege State Constituency seats as the election approaches.
