iwe iroyin BO ṢE RI,one of the leading Newspapers propagating the Yoruba culture and heritage, has honoured Olu of Itori, Ọba AbdulFatai Akorede Akamọ, as the most Journalists friendly Monarch.
The presentation came up at itori town during the celebration of Ode Oba, an annual event where sons and daughters at home and diaspora, kings and others prominent individuals usually joined in the celebration.
In his address, the Editor of the Newspaper, who led other Journalists
to the event, described the monarch as a royal father who holds Journalists in high esteem and always heed the calls of Journalists whenever the need arises.
He also commended Oba Akamo for the peace, unity and harmony as well as the impactful development being witnessed in the town since his ascension to the throne,adding that the king's name; Akorede (harbinger of goodness) are all pointers to the current progress of itori town.
Akinpẹlu said" it is very rare to see an high class monarch extending love to Journalists like Oba Akamo has been doing.
" The honour being bestowed on the amiable king was not lobbied for, but the king's exemplary characters to us, Journalists, earned him the award".
Contributing, a veteran Journalist,Chief Johnson Onifade, said "among all kings known to me in Ogun State, Oba Akamo tops the chart of royal fathers who nevers joke with Journalists and issues concerning us,as kabiyesi always extend greetings to us with open hands and smiles"
Oba Fatai Akamo,who expressed happiness over the honour, thanked the team for founding him worthy of the recognition. He added that the award would spur him more to further strengthen the cordial relationships with all Journalists.
The popular Oueen of Waka, Alhaja Salawa Abeni serenaded the gathering with melodious waka songs at the Ode Oba ceremony.
