Nigeria Union of Journalists,Ogun State Council has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of one of its esteemed members, Bukola Agbakaizu, Ex-Officio of the union.
The sad incident occurred on Monday at her residence while preparing to go for her afternoon shift.
A statement signed by the State Council secretary comrade Bunmi Adigun stated " It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our esteemed member, Bukola Agbakaizu, Ex-Officio of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council.
"Bukola, a dedicated staff member of Ogun State Television, tragically collapsed at her home at Kemta Idi Aba while preparing for afternoon shift, and despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Federal Medical Center.
"A versatile journalist and a passionate comrade, Bukola served as a former Vice Chairman of OGTV Chapel and was an invaluable member of the Wale Olanrewaju-led Executive.
"Her vibrant spirit and commitment to journalism will be sorely missed, leaving an irreplaceable void in our community.
She is survived by her two children, her aged mother, and countless colleagues and friends who mourn her loss.
Bukola Agbakaizu was 52 years old at the time of her passing.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family during this difficult time.
May God rest her soul in the bosom of her creator."
