...applauds Ogun State for remarkable hosting
As the National Sports festival tagged Gateway Games holding in Ogun State coming to a successful end today, Commissioner for Sport development ,Enugu State, billed to host the 23rd Edition comes 2026, Hon. Love Ikechukwu Ekeremadu has given assurance of better festival.
Hon. Ekeremadu gave the assurance on Thursday during a Press Conference held at the Media Centre, kuto Abeokuta
While commending Ogun State for a job well-done, Ekeremadu described the 22nd edition as a major improvement from past national sports festivals. He added that Enugu State is planning to out do Ogun state.
Delving on the State's plans, Ekeremadu said
"We shall provide games village and good transportation .
We will work with swan executive both the national and state Swan to ensure smooth and conducive accomodations for all journalists
"We have many tourist attractions in Enugu ,the serene is good ,we have waterfall. Pyramids,Forest.
" Enugu has a beautiful rich history for people to enjoy .
"The Media centre will be provided inside the stadium.
"We are ready to host the youths of Nigeria and the media.
"The opening ceremony will be grand .
We are planning to out do Ogun state in terms of ceremonial aspect
On security, Ekeremadu added "Enugu is the safest place in Nigeria today .
The government has put in place lots of measures to improve security.
The government has stopped Massob from operating in Enugu .
No sit at home again in the State.
"Incidence of insecurity is now a thing of the past .
"Don't forget we recently hosted an international marathon where we have international athletes in attendance.
"I can assure you that we will not have security issues nor breaches in Enugu"
Enugu has fantastic Governor who has commitment for sports development,he is Man of Excellence.we will be more than ready we the time comes. We are ready to do better than what Ogun state had done. He concluded.
