The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the new trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN), PAMOJA 2024.
The trophy boasts a sleek design, incorporating 54 lines to represent the 54 nations, with a prominent African map at its center.
The Tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has announced a record-breaking prize fund for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), detailed as follows:
- Champion: $3.5 million (an increase of 75%)
- Runner-Up: $1.2 million
- Third Place: $700,000
- Fourth Place: $600,000
- Quarter-Finalists: $450,000 each
- Third in Group Stage: $300,000 each
- Fourth in Group Stage: $200,000 each
- Fifth in Five-Team Group: $200,000
The total prize pool amounts to $10.4 million, reflecting a 32% increase.
The tournament is scheduled to commence on the 2nd of August 2025 and conclude on the 30th of August 2025.
Notably, this will mark the first occasion where the championship is hosted across three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
