Offa Begins Egungun Festival

 

...As Gbogi Offers Annual Prayers, Displays Spectacular Outing

The people of Offa Gbagura, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, kicked off the 2025 Annual Egungun festival on Saturday.

The leading and head of masquerades in Gbagura Kingdom, Gbogi, was on display as people, traditionalists, chiefs, sons, and daughters from far and near gathered at Ija Offa to witness Gbogi's display, offer prayers, and libations for the continued peace, progress, and development of the people of Offa, Gbagura Kingdom, Ogun State, and Nigeria.

A mammoth crowd began to troop to "Oju Ija Offa" as early as 8 am to witness Gbogi's display. The Balogun of Offa, High Chief Abiodun Owolabi, Oganla of Offa,Chief Kolawole Oderinde and other chiefs of Offa were also on the ground to welcome the Gbogi masquerade to the year's Egungun festival.
