Indigenes of Sekunugba and Ketu Epe Ereyun in Epe/Ejinrin Local Government Development Area, Lagos, on Sunday, September 14,2025, signed a land boundary agreement to further enhance the existing harmonious coexistence between the two communities.
Speaking at the meeting held at the Palace of the Alaketu of Ketu Epe, the Olisa and Regent of Ketu Epe Kingdom, High Chief Adewale Badru, said that what necessitated the meeting was not an elaborate nor a dispute issue but a development to further strengthen the existing peace that has been between Shekungba and Ketu Epe Ereyun Kingdom.
He dismissed the conception that "Aayanhi town" was within the boundary. His words:
"The issue has been going on for the past three days. We are here today to finalize the boundary adjustment between Sekunugba and Ketu Ereyun. To know where our boundaries are. We have been to the said land and have seen where our boundaries are situated. We have been working on it for the past two months, and two weeks ago, we were all there to see the boundary.
"In order to remain in harmony and follow what the law states, there is a need for the two entities to sign the land boundary agreement".
Also addressing the gathering, three of the signatories from the Sekunugba community attested that all the people of Shekungba are united on the land boundary agreement being signed.
The signatories included Abidemi Ajayi from the Ololu family, Sekugba; Isiaka Adebanjo, Secretary, Sekugba; Adebowale Timothy, Head of Family, Erinle Pootan, Sekugba; Tunde Erinle; Omotayo Funmilayo; and Christina Sobande (Baale Sekunugba's daughters), among others.
Also present were the Agbon and Oba Elect of Ketu Epe kingdom, Akeem Oluwole, Head of Otujeru family, Chief Adenugba, Balogun of Ketu Epe, Chief Pelewura Oyetunde kamoru,Aare Onakakanfo Moshood Tijani, Moruf Tijani and other prominent sons and daughters of Ketu Epe Ereyun.
