President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially commissioned the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Iganmu, Lagos — formerly the National Arts Theatre.
Renamed in honour of our very own Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, this 4,000-capacity masterpiece now stands as a global beacon of Yorùbá excellence, culture, and creativity.
From literature to theatre, from Lagos to the world — Soyinka’s legacy continues to inspire generations, and now his name crowns Africa’s most iconic cultural hub.
With this historic step, Lagos has reaffirmed itself as the cultural heartbeat of Africa. Yorùbá culture, art, and genius will forever shine.
