Pelican CEO Applauds Aremo Osoba as he bags TASFUED's Honourary Doctorate

 

 

A major player in the nation’s real estate business, Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo, has congratulated former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, on being recognized and honoured today, January 29, 2026 with the award of a Doctor of Science (D.Sc. Ed.) degree honoris causa in Political Science.

The award given by the Nigeria’s premier education university – Tai Solarin University of Education (TASFUED), was presented to Aremo Osoba at the institution’s 17th convocation ceremony yesterday held at  Ijagun campus, off Ijebu – Ode.

Two other exceptional Nigerians – First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun – were also awarded Doctor of Science (D.Sc. Ed.) degrees, honoris causas in Childhood Education and Education Management respectively.

Congratulating Osoba on the honour, Adeyemo who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, said the award was well – deserved, describing the recipient elder statesman as one of the nation’s most respected voices in political, civic, journalism, governance and leadership sphere.

The real estate entrepreneur commended the TASFUED for its keen eyes for identifying only worthy individuals such as Aremo Osoba for the prestigious honour, recalling that the octogenarian politician who served twice as Executive Governor of Ogun State, first in the Third Republic and again in the Fourth Republic had his tenure marked by purposeful governance, massive rural and urban development, infrastructural renewal, community empowerment, and policies rooted in compassion and accountability.

According to Adeyemo, despite leaving office about 23 years ago, Osoba’s legacies in Ogun State still remained visible to all, meaningful and celebrated.
