The driver of the Lexus SUV in connection with fatal accident involving world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua and claimed the lives of two members of his boxing team, is now in Police Custody.
Recall that Joshua was on Monday,at about 11am involved in a road crash that resulted to death of two other occupants; Abdul lateef Ayodele and Sina Ghami.
The Lexus SUV with registration number KRD 850 HN, conveying the renowned boxer collided with a stationary truck.
A brief statement released around 4; 13pm on Thursday by the Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command,DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated "The driver of the Lexus SUV is currently in custody in connection with the Anthony Joshua accident case. Investigations are ongoing".
Also, The Governor of Ogun State,Gov. Dapo Abiodun while fielding question from Journalists moments after the cross over service at St. Peters Cathedral,Ake,disclosed the arrest of the driver of the Lexus SUV.
Meanwhile details have been discovered on Anthony Joshua's driver's name, picture and fate . the driver is Kayode Adeniyi, 47, a long-time member of Joshua’s Nigerian logistics team. Not a random hire, not a new face someone who had been around AJ whenever he’s in Nigeria.
According to police sources, Adeniyi was treated for minor injuries, discharged from a Lagos hospital, then taken to Abeokuta for questioning. He has given his own account of what happened before the crash that killed two of Joshua’s close friends, and police say he’s expected to be charged with reckless driving within 48 hours though the public holiday may slow the process. .
