As the 10th Legislature in Ogun State marks the second anniversary of change of its leadership, members of the Assembly have commended the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide and reaffirmed their unity of purpose in giving the best Legislative service to the State.
The members took turn to laud Rt. Hon. Elemide during a Special plenary commemorating the second anniversary at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Speaking, the Deputy Speaker and member representing Yewa South State Constituency, Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi, lauded her co-lawmakers for their unity of purpose, while appreciating the Speaker for his transparent leadership, and acknowledged Governor Dapo Abiodun’s support for the legislative arm.
On his part, the Minority Leader and member representing Odogbolu State Constituency, Hon. Lukman Adeleye, congratulated the Speaker, reflected on the Assembly’s growth in unity and resilience, while urging his co-lawmakers to sustain the legislative momentum.
He called for stronger legislative independence and prioritisation of the Assembly resolutions by the executive; while congratulating the State on the celebration of 50th anniversary, with tribute to the first civilian governor of the State, late Chief Olabisi Onabanjo.
Hon. Adeleye commended the current administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun for its commitment to quality education and industrialisation strides; while urging requesting more efforts in infrastructural development across the State.
All other lawmakers also congratulated the Speaker and pledged continued support; while reaffirming their commitment to effective representation and good governance.
Responding, Speaker Elemide thanked his colleagues, the management and members of staff for their support and solidarity.
Elemide described the confidence reposed in him as a renewed commitment to render more service to the people of the State; while highlighting the achievements of the 10th Legislature to include the upgrade and redesigning of the Assembly Complex.
He reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to advancing legislative activities, oversight on government projects, and collaborating with the executive to convert resolutions into visible development for the residents of the State.
