The Ogun State Police Command has scored a major win against armed robbery, arresting 8 suspects and recovering a stash of stolen goods. The operation, led by the Anti-Robbery Squad and SCID, was sparked by intelligence on a syndicate hijacking trucks along the Papalanto-Ilaro and Owode-Idiroko roads.
In a statement made available to Journalists on Thursday, the Spokesman of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi disclosed that the suspects, including Mogaji Sodiq, Adebowale Lekan, and Ajah Peter, Ganiyu Razaq , Odeleye Ayoola , Egboja Amos , Bello Akeem, and Olaifa Sunday were caught with a locally-made pistol, a trailer truck, and 900 bags of cement. Investigations revealed the gang's pattern of targeting commercial supply chains, with more arrests expected as the probe continues.
CP Ogun State Command praised the team's efforts, assuring residents of continued efforts to curb organised crime.
