Rt. Hon. Olusegun Bolanle Gbeleyi (OBG) on Wednesday, 28th January 2026, attended the commissioning of the Afon Township Road in Afon Town, Imeko/Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State.
OBG commended His Excellency, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Executive Governor of Ogun State,for successfully completing the long-abandoned road project, describing it as a clear dividend of good governance that has significantly improved mobility and boosted economic activities within the community.
While appreciating the Governor’s commitment to infrastructural development, OBG respectfully appealed for the execution of additional legacy road projects in Igbesa Township, covering approximately 4 kilometres, to further enhance connectivity and socio-economic growth. The proposed roads include:Esa Igbe to the Palace, Ipodo,Esa Igbe to Ilamiro,Esa Igbe to Ona Ojo (Court Road),Esa Igbe to Osi Roundabout,Esa Igbe to Panada via Ogona.
Rt.Hon.Gbeleyi also expressed gratitude to Mr Governor for the Agbara–Atan Road project and the ongoing construction of the second dual carriageway,* noting its importance to industrial growth and regional development.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by royal fathers, political leaders, community stakeholders, youth groups, and members of the public, reflecting widespread appreciation for the project.
