Ryan Garcia made history last night,(Saturday) capturing his first major world title by defeating Mario Barrios via unanimous decision at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The judges scored the fight 119-108, 120-107, and 118-109 in Garcia's favor.
The 27-year-old boxer from Victorville, California, dominated the fight, dropping Barrios in the opening seconds and controlling the pace throughout. Garcia's impressive performance earned him the WBC welterweight title, marking a major milestone in his career.
Garcia, now 25-2 with 20 knockouts, has been on a mission to prove himself as one of boxing's top stars. This win is a significant step towards achieving that goal. After the fight, Garcia expressed his desire to face Shakur Stevenson next, saying, "You know who I want, he's right there, Shakur Stevenson let's go... I'll fight Devin Haney, I'll fight Shakur Stevenson, I'll fight anybody"
