Tunde Lemo Hails APC Ogun Congress as 'Democracy at Work',affirms bid for 2027 governorship





The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State on Tuesday basked in the euphoria of a peaceful and harmonious congress,as delegates affirmed the leadership of the Sanusi-led executives for another term.


The event, held at Cultural Centre, Abeokuta witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), showcased the party's unity and cohesion, a testament to the effective leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


Speaking to journalists, moment after the congress,one of the Party 's Governorship aspirants, Chief Tunde Lemo expressed joy and satisfaction with the conduct of the congress, describing it as "democracy at work".


"For us this is democracy at work ,  All Progressives Congress as the largest part in Nigeria is one big family. There was no rancour. There was  affirmation because they all did well and you can see joy in the face of everybody which clearly confirmed that the Sanusi led executives did very well and they deserve another term.

"I am so happy Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC officials were there to witness the Cohesion  in the party and that is what we will take to our 2027 elections by the grace of God under the leadership of our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who is doing extremely well".



The Gubernatorial aspirant emphasized that the party is one big family and urged members to maintain the unity and harmony, crucial for the party's success in the 2027 elections.



When asked about the affirmed leadership's ability to conduct the 2027 primaries, the chieftain expressed confidence in their capability.


Lemo ,who had earlier declared his intention to run, affirmed that his bid was still intact, by the grace of God.


He advised APC members in Ogun State to maintain unity and avoid rancour citing a post by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, that emphasized the need for peaceful co-existence among aspirants.


"We should be one big family. There should be no rancour. That is why I liked what was posted yesterday by one of the aspirants, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, that there is no point abusing ourselves. The mandate will go  for only one person and all of us will rally round whoever deservedly gets it so that as one  united family we can win the election come 2027.

"APC will  rule this state and it will be a  resounding victory, with all of us working together as one team.







The former CBN Deputy Governor urged members to rally behind the eventual winner of the gubernatorial ticket, to ensure a resounding victory in 2027.
