LG BOSS HARPS ON SECURITY

The Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Odulate, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to security of lives and property and maintenance of peaceful co-existence amongst residents in the Council area, reminding all that Sagamu has remained relatively calm with no record of security threats, a situation that must not be thwarted.

Ogbeni Odulate stated this while speaking with Journalist after the monthly statutory security meeting at the Council Secretariat to review security situation across the Council area.

He noted that issues affecting peace and stability of the community, incidents such as snatching of motorcycle, cases of jungle justice, burglary and theft were deliberated upon, adding that drug abuse amongst the young and old should be looked into, urging the regulated agencies to intensify efforts to clamp down on drug-related activities.

“The peace of the community is non-negotiable as security is everyone’s business, therefore I urge everyone to play their part in keeping the community safe and remain vigilant and committed to the principle of “see something, say something” until offenders are consistently brought to justice”, he said.

The Chairman urged residents to report any suspicious activity and criminal acts to the appropriate security agencies rather than resorting to self-help, calling on community leaders and stakeholders to support the effort by providing timely and useful information when necessary.

He commended the joint efforts of all security agencies for their swift responses and dedication to duty, saying that the joint Task Force wouls operate a standing order framework to ensure immediate action in times of emergency.
