Police Nab Father, Son Over Illegal Firearm in Ogun

 




The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects, a father and his 13-year-old son, for unlawful possession of a firearm. The duo was apprehended along the Shagamu/Ogijo Road axis.


According to statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the State Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi,operatives of the Quick Response Squad on Sunday  April, 5, along Lafage, Sagamu Ogijo Road,intercepted a tricycle conveying the younger suspect, recovering a locally made pistol, live cartridge, and a mask.


The suspect claimed the firearm belonged to his father, leading to the arrest of Joseph Kehinde, 38.


Both suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives' vigilance and reiterated the Command's zero-tolerance stance on illegal firearm possession.


The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
