Abeokuta— The Presence of Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunke Amosun on Saturday attracted massive turnout of All Progressives Congress members at the Ward 6, Oju Agemo, Itoko, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the State.
Amosun,who joined other members of the Party at the Ward for the primary,while addressing Journalists moment after conduct of the exercise, described the event as a nationwide reaffirmation of the party’s commitment to the President and the APC.
"Today's Primary has brought together party faithful to publicly demonstrate unity and support for the President’s administration. This turnout were meant to reinforce positions already taken at earlier state-level gatherings".
Amosun explained that the nationwide mobilization was intentional and simultaneous. “Today is very special. Today is for the President, and we all must come out to come and show and demonstrate that yes, we are for the President, we are for APC,”.
He noted that similar exercises had been held at the state level in recent days, including one for the Governorship'“day before yesterday.” According to him, the party structure is now fully coordinated. “All of us, we’re in sync, we have all taken that position. So it’s just to do what we call reaffirmation .what we’ve done, and that is what’s happening.”
He emphasized that the activity extended beyond a single location. “Today, all of us in Nigeria, not just this place, every ward in Nigeria is doing this, and we have to come and participate and do our bit too,” he said. He added that turnout had been enthusiastic, describing party members as “very excited” and “very eager to be part of what is going on.”
When asked about the conduct of the process, he expressed satisfaction with the orderliness observed. “Oh, clearly, yes! We are orderly, and that’s how it should be. So, and all of us, you know, we are speaking with one voice. No dissension. Everybody agree that yes, we want our President to still continue in 2027".
