ABEOKUTA, Ogun State — Ogun State Police Command has arrested seven suspects in coordinated operations across Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba and Agbado for armed robbery, burglary, stealing and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
According to a Statement signed by the Police Public Relations officer,PPRO ,DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi on Friday, In Sango-Ota, police arrested Pelumi Akintande, 21, Mojeed Sanusi, 28, and Mubarak Lateef, 17, after an armed robbery in Alasia Community. A locally fabricated pistol and one expended cartridge were recovered, the command said.
In Owode-Egba, Damilare Makanjuola, 22, was arrested for alleged house breaking and stealing at Ofada. Police linked him to other burglaries in Sun City Estate where electrical items and cash above 100,000 naira were taken.
The same division also arrested Tijani Jubril, 28, and Ezra Modi, 22, for conspiracy and stealing electrical appliances from a home in Treasure Island Estate, Awo Village. The items were recovered.
In Agbado, Waris Adebesin, 22, was arrested with a knife after allegedly threatening violence near a secondary school, police said.
All suspects are in custody as investigations continue, the command said. Exhibits have been documented.
Ogun Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni commended the operatives and urged residents to report suspicious activity. He said the arrests are part of a statewide strategy to dismantle criminal networks.
