2027: Yewa, Awori Groups from 5 LGAs Endorse Adebutu at Massive Ilaro Rally

Thousands of PDP supporters from across Ogun West converged at Tetede Hall, Ilaro in Yewa South LGA  on Wednesday to endorse the party’s governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu ahead of the 2027 election.

The rally drew delegates and support groups from Yewa South, Yewa North, Imeko-Afon, Ipokia and Ado-Odo/Ota LGAs. The event followed Adebutu’s earlier courtesy visit to the palace of the traditional ruler in Ilaro, where he was received by members of the traditional council.

Speaking on behalf of the Believe Movement Chief Akinbami Lukman from Imeko-Afon LGA* said the group adopted Adebutu in the interest of Ogun’s development.

“We have adopted you in the interest of Ogun’s development. Our members are committed to mobilising voters across Yewa and ensuring that every legitimate vote counts during the election,” Lukman said.

Also, the leader of the *Door-to-Door Foot Soldiers*, *Mr Jimoh Azeez*, said the group mobilized youths from across the 5 LGAs of Ogun West for the rally. He noted that Nigerian youths were now more politically aware and ready to defend their votes.

“Youths are now more politically aware and determined to participate actively in the electoral process. We urge citizens to vote and protect their votes. The people will decide the outcome of the election through democratic means,” Azeez said.

*Representatives of Awori groups from Ado-Odo/Ota LGA* also endorsed Adebutu at the rally. They described him as a leader capable of promoting unity, protecting the state’s dignity and advancing development across Ogun.

Other speakers commended the philanthropic activities of the Adebutu family, saying the governorship candidate had consistently supported the less privileged in *Yewa and Awori communities* even without holding public office.

Responding, Adebutu thanked the people for the warm reception, describing the turnout from across Ogun West as a demonstration of the people’s commitment to democracy.

“I pledge to pursue policies that will promote the development of Ogun West and the entire state if elected governor in 2027,” Adebutu said.

He added: “I have always supported qualified Yewa candidates across political parties and I remain committed to fairness, inclusiveness and the overall progress of Ogun State.”
