ACCRA, Ghana — Nigeria will face Egypt in the final of the boys' under-19 team event at the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Championships after both teams advanced through the semifinals on Wednesday.
The final sets up another chapter in one of Africa's biggest youth table tennis rivalries, with Nigeria aiming to deny Egypt another continental title.
Egypt will also compete for the girls' under-19 team crown after reaching the final against Algeria, giving the North African nation a chance to complete a clean sweep of the team titles.
Nigeria secured its place in the boys' final with a composed performance in the knockout stage, continuing an impressive run at the championships in Accra. Egypt also progressed in convincing fashion to book its place in the title match.
The girls' final will feature Algeria against Egypt after both sides overcame their respective semifinal opponents to move within one victory of the continental championship.
The finals will bring together four of Africa's strongest youth table tennis teams, with continental titles and regional bragging rights at stake.
Nigeria will be seeking to reclaim the boys' title against an Egyptian side that has traditionally dominated African table tennis, while Algeria will attempt to prevent Egypt from winning both the boys' and girls' team championships.
