The Ogun State Police Command on Monday arraigned three men before a Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, over the murder of former OGTV staff, Ms Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo.
The defendants, Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22; Abduraheem Sakirudeen, 27; and Sobur Obafunso, 30, were arraigned before Magistrate Court 3 on charges relating to the killings which occurred on June 20, 2026, at Agodo Village, Kobape, in Abeokuta.
Police prosecutor told the court that the three men were allegedly involved in the killing of the 2 victims at the village.
Following an ex parte motion filed by the prosecution, Chief Magistrate O.T Odubanjo granted an order remanding the defendants in a correctional facility for 60 days.
The remand, the court said, is to allow the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, to review the case file and issue legal advice.
The Magistrate subsequently adjourned the case to September 7, 2026, for further proceedings.
The double murder in June had sparked tension in Kobape and neighbouring communities, with residents calling for swift justice.
Police authorities said investigation into the matter is ongoing.
