The Managing Director of Erinbe FM, 92.1, Sotubo, Sagamu, a newly established commercial radio station, Mr Dele Ayodo has paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) in Ogun State. The visit took place at the ASUSS Secretariat in Leme, Abeokuta.
Welcoming the delegation, the State Chairman of ASUSS, Comrade Felix Oluwaseun Agbesanwa, expressed his delight at receiving Mr. Ayodo, a veteran in the media industry. He commended his vast experience and contributions to journalism over the years.
Mr. Ayodo, a respected voice in the media landscape, is known for his expertise in investigative journalism, intellectual depth, perseverance, and assertiveness. He holds a Mass Communication degree from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and furthered his media studies at South Gate College, London. He emphasized the station’s commitment to partnering with ASUSS Ogun State, stating, “We share similar ideologies, and I have been a long-standing friend of the union since the days of Comrade Akeem Lasisi. The current chairman, Comrade Agbesanwa, has also been an inspiration, with his motivational writings forming part of my weekly radio segments.”
During the visit, Mr. Ayodo revealed a surprising personal experience, saying, “in 2019 , I resigned as a Management staff at a radio station, earning just ₦65,000. When I opted to work as a part-time, my salary was only ₦22,000. Anyone joining the media industry solely for financial gain will be greatly disappointed.”
In response, Comrade Agbesanwa affirmed ASUSS Ogun State’s readiness to collaborate with Eri n be FM 92.1, recognizing both the station’s potential and the credibility of its leadership. He assured that the partnership would enhance ASUSS’s visibility and improve the welfare of secondary school teachers in the state.
Also present at the meeting were the State Welfare Officer (Yewa/Awori), Comrade Wale Fadipe, and a member of the ASUSS Press Crew, Comrade Michael Akinniyi.
