OGSG intervenes as father of triplets flees after teenage mother's delivery

 


Ogun State Government has come to the rescue of a teenage mother who delivered triplets at Sacred heart Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta.


Temilola, who was reportedly preparing for her Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) when she became pregnant, delivered the triplets naturally, without undergoing a Caesarean Section.


The father of the triplets,Mr.Adenira  was alleged to have abandoned his wife and babies as a result of inability to offset hospital bills.

 Narrating Ogun Government timely intervention, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social development,Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye in a statement made available to Journalists on Thursday, said she responded to a public call for support for the teenage mother and triplets.

"I led a delegation from the Ministry including the PS, Mrs. Jumoke Adewole to pay a visit to Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro, to assess and ensure the welfare of a mother who successfully delivered a set of triplets. 

"In the spirit of compassion and generosity, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, extended a cash gift to the newborns and offset the medical bills, while other mothers in the maternity ward were also beneficiaries of thoughtful gifts and kind gestures.





"On behalf of the State Government, we deeply appreciate the professionalism and care demonstrated by the hospital management and medical team, led by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Arifalo Olawole. 

"We commend their unwavering commitment to excellence. To the mother of the triplets, we extend not only our heartfelt congratulations but also the assurance of continued support that goes beyond childbirth, including sustainable empowerment initiatives aimed at providing a reliable means of livelihood".
