... As cartel vows to eliminate me for knowing too much -- Ex-Call girl
A former and repentant call girl, Maku Ponnami Paulina narrates how she got into prostitution, joined an high wired sex cartel, repented and reneged from the deadly trade but no longer safe as a result of
Attacks, threats from the ruthless cartel.
Her story:
" I grew up with my mother in one of the suburbs in Iusada then a developing area in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State . I didn't know my father and anytime I broached the talk to my mother to at least let me know who my father is or his picture, I also received a rebuff from her.
Through hardship, I managed to finish my primary and secondary school education. I am a beautiful girl with average intelligence.
Men were all over me wanting to date me. But I always resisted their love advances.
But then my others friends from the poor homes always have glittering this like phones , necklaces, good bags.
In no time , I was introduced to the prostitution trade and since surviving has been a difficult issue for me I joined the prostitution trade.
We became " ladies of the night"
It was in the course of the sex for money trade that I met Madam Shirley who promised me that a beautiful lady like me should be a high class call girl instead of the road side Prostitution with little money I was getting.
Madam Shirley invited me to her house in Sango Area of Ogun State.
During our meet, Other girls were also on ground, about ten of us.
" But for two to three security men that were in the gated house, Madam Shirley seemed to be living alone.
" we engaged in serious, life threatening traditional (juju oath taking) Our blood, vaginal hair, arm pit hair and head were shaved and place in a calabash with our name.
" And other fetish materials. It was a fearful day for me that I would never forget in my life.
Madam Shirley has our numbers and she always hooked us up with Rich and well connected high Net worth individuals in Nigeria and some outside the country.
" She took a personal likeness for me because of the brilliance she noted in me.
Least I forget, In the cause of the Oath taking, my permanent address number was taken.
" We continue doing the job and living reckless lives
' Along the line, a lots of ritualistic and death knocking encounters happened to me. I was almost an organ harvesting victim in the hands of a well and rich client that Madam Shirley hooked me with .
" Upon reporting the deadly encounter to our Oga, she rebuffed me and warned me never to tell any of the girls .
" She described the business man that she hooked me with as one of her highest paying client and she was never ready to hear any complaint from anybody about the business mogul nor lose him even at the life expense of any one of us.
" Since the day I heard this from the madam, the urge to start a new life submerged me and I began to draw back from the hook - up sex slavery trade.
One day, I stumbled on another two girls narrating the similar death knocking encounters to madam Shirley. It was the same answers she gave me that she also handed over to the two girls.
When ever she called me that she had a client for me, I always feigned serious sickness. I did this on several occasions.
One day, in 2015, She called me that she had a job for me with a foreign client, after sweet- talking me, I went reluctantly and on way to the hotel for the job, inside the car with the foreign client, I got blindfolded and the next thing I recall was that I found myself in Madam Shirley temple(Oath house).
" She informed me that she learnt that I divulged the encounter I had with two other girls.
I vehemently denied and she allowed me to go.
"Three days after, I ran home to meet my mother at Lusada,Igbesa.
" Two days after my arrival, I was attacked in an armed robbery like manner on my way home around 8: 30pm, to Lusada from Atan where I went for a visit.
" Unknown to me the Okada rider who took me from Atan has been hired for the hatchet job.
" The Okada man who covered his face on the pretence of sand falling into his eyes, abruptly stopped along the Atan- Lusada road at a lonely spot and within a tickle of an eye two hooded guys jumped out of the bush with guns and daggers.
" The bike rider was quick in escaping, while I was at the mercy of the two marauders.
I was beaten blue- black, robbed of my money and bag and the tallest of the two attackers was about to shoot me, when an headlights from an oncoming vehicle beamed on us.
They quickly hid their weapons and ran into the bush. I was left helpless and it was another bike with a lone passenger on it that took pity on me, stopped and took me to my Lusada home.
I reported the attack at the Police Station, where my statement was taken.
" Since it was attack alluded to be an armed Robbery attack by the Police, the police assured me that they would investigate the matter, adding that I should thank God for escaping death
" But within me, I knew that it was the handiwork of the cartel.
And to cut the story short, I turned a new leaf, I did my jamb and got admitted to Ekiti State University to study Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry Options), had my service and after met my fiance(Then) Oluwajana Folorunsho Michael.
One day, I and fiance, who we later became husband and wife, went to a party in Ikeja.
Initially, I was felt reluctant, but my husband said I need to unwind. Lo and behold, I and Madam Shirley saw face to face at the party.
From afar, where she seated among some men, I could see the surprise in her face " so ,this girl is still alive!
I became uncomfortable and within twinkle of an eye , We quickly left the party.
"Through luck ,I got to overseas but the fear of the sex cartel coming after my life is still a recurring decimal in all the days of my life because before leaving Nigeria, I had that the two other girls went missing all of a sudden and they have not been seen or heard of till today".
"My husband, Oluwajana Folorunsho Michael, who knew of the traumas I have had in the past,is also afraid of losing me. We have a promising future together, and he always sound it to me that " it is always safer to run for one's life than taking a risk to go near where one's life could be cut short"
Paulina sounded sorrowful as she rounded off her narrations.
