Ibeabuchi outboxes Afinni, returns to winning,27 years away from the ring

52-year-old Ike Ibeabuchi, aka "The President," made a triumphant return to boxing with a stoppage of opponent Idris Afinni in Lagos, Nigeria after an incredible 26 years away from the ring.

Ibeabuchi was a formidable heavyweight contender in the 1990s, and he held victories over David Tua and Chris Byrd, both of whom went on to achieve their own success, though both last fought more than 10 years ago.

Around the time of his win over Tua in 1997, Ibeabuchi began exhibiting troubling behavior and violent tendencies away from the ring. He was sent to prison in Nevada for s**ual assault and battery, and he served about 15 years before being held for another several years on immigration issues, then sent back to Nigeria.
