In its drive to boost educational developments in Yewa North Local Government,Dangote Host Communities Youth Assembly on Thursday organized an Interactive Leadership Workshop for Pupils of Public Primary Schools in the LG.
The Workshop, Themed: Building Future Leaders for Better Tomorrow, has 17 schools in 17 communities participating in the Workshop.
The Youth Assembly in collaboration with Dangote Cement also donated school materials such as Bags, Sandals, Socks and Exercise Books to the pupils.
Addressing the pupils at the event held at Senator Adeola YaYi Hall, Imasayi, during the interactive session, the resource person, Mrs Precious Asiwaju educated the participants on the paths of attaining greatness as a future leaders of tomorrow.
She cited great Nigerians heroes and heroine such as Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Late Chief mrs Funmi Layo Ransome Kuti, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Prof.Wole Soyinka, Dr. Adenuga and Alhaji Aliko Dangote as been once pupils like them but achieved greatness and contributed positively to the Nation and humanity in their various endeavors by being studious,focussed, disciplined, determined, courageous and dedicated .
She therefore enjoined the participants to imbibe the sterling qualities of the personalities.
" You may be small now but your dream are big, we believe in you and your should read your books, shun moral vices and by the grace of God you too can become great leaders".
In his remarks, the Aboro of Ibeseland, Oba Rotimi Oluseyi Mulero commended The Dangote Host Communities Youth Assembly and Dangote Cement for the worthy collaboration.
The monarch described the session and donation as ones to encourage the pupils to face their studies.
Oba Mulero, while advising the parents on the need to maintain the donated items very well for the pupils, added that all care of the pupils should not be left to the teachers, as pupils spend ample time with their parents and guardians at home.
He added that Parents should take care of their children in all ways and as well ensure that the pupils don't keep unuseful items in the bag.
" I want the pupils to use the learning materials very well so that they will last longer and by so doing, the donors will be encouraged to do greater things for you next time that this type of event will be organised.He prayed that all the pupils would attain greatness and be pride of their communities, Yewaland, Ogun State and Nigeria.
Olu of Onigbedu, Oba Matthew Ayinde Ajibulu, represented by Bada of Onigbedu, Chief Ayo Ogunremi,stated that impacting greatness at earl stage would go along way to shape the future of the younger one for greatness. He also enjoined them to be studious and eschew social vice as by doing this, their future dreams of being great would be realized
The Head of Human Asset Management and Administration,Dangote Cement,Ademola Ojolowo while addressing the pupils described the event as having a solid foundation for the pupils so as to ensure greater future for them.
" With the foundation we are building for you, none of you will end up as bad eggs. You will all shine, just be serious, shun Cultism and any form of social vices.
" Go to your schools, Pay attention to what your are being taught and the sky will be the starting point for you.
" The children I am seeing here are good ones, I see all of your succeeding in life, you will all be in the right frame of mind and healthy, for that is very important ".
He advised the younger ones to imbibe resilience which he emphasized as one of the sterling qualities of Alhaji Aliko Dangote
" When talk about resilience, Dangote is a person that never gives up. You can see the story of the refinery, a weak minded person cannot weather the storm,but the man is there. He has pledged to up the capacity of the refinery bigger,so congratulations children, I see your future very bright".
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Dangote Host Communities Youth Youth, Ajayi idowu, stated that Youth leaders across communities engaged the corporate organization to work for the development and progress of the area in unity and harmony.
He added that the Youth Assembly is not focussing on infrastructural development only but on building capacity of the younger ones by providing learning materials that will encourage the pupils to go to school,be motivated to face their studies from the early stage and be able to realize their dreams to be great future leaders.
One of the beneficiaries,from African Church Primary School, Aga -Olowo,Esther Olailo thanked the organisers for the donation, adding that the materials would further make learning easier for the pupils.
