... Residents express joy over arrests
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have nabbed a notorious armed robbery syndicate leader, Lekan Anuoluwapo, 32, and his female companion, Ajoke Kareem, 33, in Oloshe area of Ifo ,Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Saturday ,November 1, 2025.
Following this arrest,the people of Ifo and its environs are celebrating over the feat of the operative of the command.
According to a statement made available to Journalists on Sunday by the Spokesperson of the Command, CSP Omolola Odutola,the duo had been terrorizing residents of Agosi, Old Bank Area, Olomu Road, Oju-Sango, Folam, Oloshe Road, Ikorita, and Ajowa communities.
Two robbery cases have been linked to the syndicate, including an incident on October 17, 2025, where a woman was attacked and robbed of her handbag, and another on October 25, 2025, where a resident was shot and robbed of valuables. A locally made pistol was recovered from the scene.
The suspect implicated Akpomoka Gabriel, aka Akuru, 36, who was also apprehended. Residents expressed relief over the breakthrough, and Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo commended the operatives, directing the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for prosecution .
