Nigeria's petition claims that these players held European passports, which is against DR Congo's laws prohibiting dual citizenship. The NFF has presented evidence, including documents showing players' passports and registration dates, to support their case .
A favorable ruling for Nigeria would see them advance to the six-team intercontinental play-offs in Mexico, where they'll face the winner of Jamaica and New Caledonia. NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi expressed confidence in their case, saying, "We have a good case. We do not venture into what would be an exercise in futility."
