…called on Nigerians to vote wisely in coming general election
The Ogun State Chairman of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Hon. Olujobi Fayoyin, has criticized the recent visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the United Kingdom, describing it as insensitive in view of the economic hardship facing Nigerians.
Fayoyin said the government of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had failed to fulfill many of the promises made to Nigerians during the election campaigns.
In a statement made available to journalists, the NRM chairman noted that the trip came at a time when citizens were calling on government officials to reduce wasteful spending and focus on addressing the country’s economic challenges.
According to him, embarking on foreign trips under the current circumstances sends the wrong message about the priorities of the government.
He therefore called on the people of Ogun State and Nigerians in general to vote out the APC in the next general election.
Fayoyin said doing so would provide an opportunity for a new leadership capable of delivering better governance and improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
