A senior aide to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Tunde Delu, has rallied support for Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola (Yayi) as the APC governorship candidate in 2027. Delu made the call at Ward 13, Abeokuta South, saying Yayi's vision and leadership will move Ogun State forward.
Delu dismissed claims Yayi would populate his administration with Lagos people, saying the senator has consistently worked with Ogun indigenes and built local structures.
He in his remark, the Senior Special Assistant,on Youth Development, stated that Yayi has positively impacted Ogun through developmental projects, adding that Ward 13 is committed to Yayi's aspiration and 98-99% of Yayi's team are Ogun people.
He added that Ward 13 in Abeokuta South remained fully committed to the aspiration of Senator Yayi, stressing that the lawmaker had demonstrated commitment to the growth and development of the State.
Speaking on concerns that, the senator might populate his administration with people from Lagos if elected governor, Delu dismissed the insinuation as unfounded. He stated that Senator Adeola had spent years building political structures within Ogun State and had consistently worked with indigenes of the state.
“I doubt such claims. Senator Solomon Olamilekan Yayi has been on ground here for years, and about 98 to 99 per cent of the people working with him are homegrown Ogun people. I believe that will continue,” he said. He urged party members and residents to continue supporting the senator’s political ambition ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
