Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape, member representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency and popularly known as AFOO, says the massive turnout at the APC presidential reaffirmation exercise in Abeokuta South proves President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rising acceptance among party members and residents.
Speaking to journalists at Itoko Oju-Agemo Ward 6 during the exercise, Afuape said the crowd on ground was a clear sign of grassroots backing for the President in Ogun State.
The federal lawmaker, who recently secured the APC ticket for a second term in the House of Representatives, expressed appreciation to party faithful for what he described as overwhelming participation and grassroots mobilisation in support of President Tinubu.
“Let me first of all thank the people of Ward 6 for coming out en masse to vote for the hope of the country, our President, President Jagaban of the Federation,” Afuape said.
He noted that the turnout witnessed during the exercise reflected the confidence and acceptance President Tinubu enjoys among APC supporters across the state.
“You know that we started this exercise a few weeks ago. You would have seen this kind of turnout. This is showing the acceptability of our President,” he added.
The lawmaker also commended former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, for personally participating in the exercise, describing his involvement as symbolic and significant to the unity of the party.
“I want to appreciate the former governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, for taking part in this exercise for the very first time. It is also a good omen that our President is acceptable to all and sundry,” he stated.
Afuape further assured party leaders that Ward 6 and Abeokuta South would deliver impressive votes for President Tinubu during the 2027 general election, emphasizing that party members remain committed to sustaining APC’s dominance in the area.
“We will continue to put in our best and I am assuring everyone that this ward will turn out one of the highest votes in the general election for our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Jagaban of Nigeria,” he said.
The APC presidential primary exercise across Ogun State recorded peaceful participation in several wards, with party leaders intensifying grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
