Ifo Unity Vanguard backs Ibogun Ward Chairman, Youth Leader, rejects OSF disciplinary panel.

IFO — Peace, not conflict, is the demand of Ifo Unity Vanguard as APC Ibogun Ward in Ifo LGA rallies behind its chairman and youth leader.

The group on Tuesday commended the vote of confidence passed on Akeem Oluwanisola and Solomon Abraham as Ward Chairman and Youth Leader. In a statement signed by 15 members; Hon (Woli) Sesan, Hon Suraju Oyedele ,  Fola Onifade, frpa, Hon.Wemimo Owolabi,Hon Nuru Matanmi,Hon.Sikiru Abdulrahman, Chief Yahya Ogundele,Hon.Juwon Gbadebo,,Hon.Ibrahim Fadauntan, Hon.Kehinde Bello, Hon.Ibrahim Adisa, Hon.Seyi Olutayo,Hon.Wale Craig, Hon Deji Obadina, Hon.Wale Soroungbe, the Vanguard said it rejected a disciplinary committee allegedly set up by the Oluomo Solidarity Forum, OSF.

According to the statement, the group called on Ogun State APC Caucus led by Governor Dapo Abiodun to urge former Speaker Olakunle Oluomo to caution his supporters. The Vanguard claimed some actions from OSF members suggested confrontation.

The group said this is the first time since 2010 that a leader not affiliated with Senator Ibikunle Amosun/OSF bloc holds office in Ifo Constituency I. It added that political opportunities in the area were largely limited to SIA/OSF members between 2010 and 2019.

The Vanguard alleged that the issue involving Chief Joju Fadairo was being used as a pretext to target the ward chairman and youth leader. It said the move was aimed at regaining control of all wards in Ifo Constituency I.

The group stressed that it bears no ill will toward anyone’s political progress. But it said the people of Ibogun made their choice in electing Oluwanisola after 17 years of alleged marginalization, and expect OSF to respect it.

It reaffirmed loyalty to Governor Abiodun, incoming Governor Senator Olamilekan Adeola, and APC leadership. The group said its goal is peace and unity in the party ahead of future elections.
