Pupils and teachers who were kidnapped in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been released, a presidential aide said on Friday.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced the release on his verified X account.
“Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been freed by their abductors,” Onanuga wrote.
Authorities did not immediately provide details about the circumstances of the release. It was unclear whether a ransom was paid or if any arrests were made.
