In a bid to preserve the legacies and memories of their beloved ones, promote a green environment, and provide fruits and a healthy diet to society, Prof. Adeniyi Afolabi and farmer Ayopo Somefun are set to flag off donation of an orchard to the Federal University of Agriculture, FUNAAB, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday, August 22nd.
The special project is a 10-acre park, to be situated within the university, where various fruits will be planted and available for all to enjoy in a serene garden free of charge.
The flag-off ceremony of the Ojogbon Orchard Park is scheduled for 10 am.
Prof. Afolabi, from the Department of Chemistry at FUNAAB, is donating the orchard in loving memory of his late parents, Mr. B.A. Afolabi (Gbajumo Photo) and Mrs. N.A. Afolabi (Iya Onibata).
While the CEO of Sogold Agricultural Venture, Farmer Somefun, joined the project to immortalize his late father, Ambassador Yinka Somefun (Blackie).
FUNAAB Alumni Global President, Mr. Bolaji Gbadamosi, will be the special guest of honor at the flag-off ceremony.
