..hands over 50 sacks, 1936 parcel Cannabis to NDLEA
Operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service,Ogun Area 1 command have seized a sleek Rolls Royce, two luxury cars worth billions of naira, 4,424 bags of rice, 50 sacks and 1,936 parcel of Cannabis among others contrabands worth #1,401,531,931.95 in Duty Paid Value.
Addressing Journalists on Thursday at Sentry Post, Idiroko ,Controller of the Command, Comptroller Godwin Otunla disclosed that the command sustained the momentum and recorded remarkable achievements through unwavering commitment of the command's officers.
Among the seizures were 2011 phantom black Rolls Royce,1 Honda Accord 2018 , 1 Mercedes Benz 2014 Model, 7 truckloads of foreign rice,50 sacks and 1936 parcels of coconut size cannabis Sativa, 106 pieces of used tyres, 21 bale,3 Sacks of used clothing,6,400 litres of Petrol and 105 pieces of Used Tyres.
Otunla added that aside the anti - smuggling feats, the Command generated total revenue of #45,054,191, an increase to #35,327,852 recorded in corresponding month of 2024.
While handing over the seized illicit drugs to the Commander of NDLEA, Idiroko Special Command, Ekundayo Williams , Otunla reiterated that the command would continue to build on collaboration, intelligence sharing and innovation in line with the policy thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, adding that the fight against smuggling remains a collective responsibility.
