Gunmen have reportedly k!lled a senior Nigerian Army officer, Major General Hassan Ahmed, in the Abaji area of Abuja, while abducting his wife.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred as the couple were returning from Okene. According to sources, the attackers opened fire on their vehicle, killing the senior officer on the spot.
The driver was said to have survived after pretending to be dead, while the gunmen allegedly whisked away the officer’s wife.
Before his death, Major General Hassan Ahmed served as a director at the Nigerian Army Headquarters after his appointment by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya. He also previously served as the Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army.
The incident has further heightened concerns over insecurity, kidnappings, and violent attacks across parts of Nigeria.
