ABEOKUTA, Ogun State — Moshood Abiola Polytechnic has expelled 365 students for gaining admission with falsified academic credentials, school officials said Monday.

The students, enrolled in various Higher National Diploma, HND, programs, submitted fake National Diploma results and forged transcripts from other institutions, the polytechnic said in a statement.

Head of Public Relations and Protocol Yemi Ajibola said the expulsion followed a comprehensive verification of credentials submitted during admission and registration.

“The verification exercise revealed that the affected students used falsified documents to secure admission into the institution,” Ajibola said.

He said the action is part of efforts to sanitize the polytechnic’s academic system and maintain standards.

MAPOLY, formerly Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, did not release the names of the affected students or the specific programs involved.
