How KC Luxury and Associates Were Arrested in Lagos, UK — Marwa

....NDLEA intercepts ₦39bn cocaine shipment, recovers foreign currencies, jewellery and exotic cars

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled an alleged international cocaine trafficking cartel operating through Nigeria, with links to the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), disclosed this in Lagos, revealing that operatives intercepted 184.50 kilograms of cocaine concealed in a courier consignment destined for onward export.

According to Marwa, the shipment had an estimated street value of ₦39 billion.

Following the seizure, the agency established a Special Investigation Team to trace the masterminds, couriers and financial facilitators behind the operation.

Two key suspects were subsequently arrested. One of them, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, is a staff member of the logistics company allegedly used to process the cocaine shipments. Investigators reportedly linked him to the cartel’s Nigerian coordinator and alleged that he helped package and route consignments to the UK, Europe and Asia.

The second suspect, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as “KC Luxury,” was identified by the NDLEA as the alleged Nigerian arrowhead of the cartel.

Marwa said KC Luxury allegedly used his public profile as a social media influencer and luxury goods dealer to conceal his involvement in the drug trade.

The NDLEA boss said operatives arrested him on August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos after receiving intelligence that he planned to flee Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris.

At the point of arrest, operatives reportedly recovered €7,750, £2,800 and ₦100,000, as well as expensive jewellery.

A search of his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi, subsequently led to the recovery of exotic vehicles, according to the agency.

Marwa also disclosed that the cartel allegedly used false identities to conceal the true consignors of its shipments and relied on financial facilitators to move billions of naira.

He added that the investigation uncovered links to criminal associates in the United Kingdom, with some alleged members of the syndicate already arrested by British authorities.

The NDLEA said investigations are continuing as efforts intensify to identify and apprehend other members of the alleged international drug trafficking network.
